I'm home sick today. A cold has made itself comfortable in the back of my throat. I don't have a fever, so I don't think I have strep (though the hypochondriac in my psyche is telling me otherwise). I plan on lying on the couch and drink copious amounts of tea. I rented (but haven't watched yet) Singin' in the Rain, and I taped last night's Veronica Mars, so I've got some things to keep me occupied...

- [es-pree de less-ka/-iay] (idiom) A witty remark that occurs to you too late, literally on the way down the stairs. The Oxford Dictionary of Quotations defines esprit de l'escalier as, "An untranslatable phrase, the meaning of which is that one only thinks on one's way downstairs of the smart retort one might have made in the drawing room."

Although I don't have a cold (knock wood) - I'm under a blanket on the couch watching movies, too!
